Voted "America's Number One Waterpark" by the Travel Channel, Schlitterbahn New Brunfels is the original and largest of the three Texas Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resorts. What sets Schlitterbahn apart from other waterparks is the natural riverfront setting, a unique mix of attractions, a family-friendly atmosphere, and resort rooms on the park grounds.
Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is 65 acres with more than 40 water rides and family attractions in six named areas. The large collection of rides includes three uphill water coasters, nine tube chutes, 17 water slides, a family wave pool, five swimming pools, five hot tubs, seven children's water playgrounds, plus water and sand volleyball courts.
Schlitterbahn is split into two parts – East and West – separated by three city blocks, but with free tram service provided between them.
The 25-acre East added in 1991, includes the Surfenburg section with the Boogie Bahn body boarding ride and the world's first uphill water coasters. In 1996, the 4-acre Blastenhoff section opened next to Surfenburg with cutting-edge rides like the Torrent River and the Master Blaster uphill water coaster.
