As of the 2021 season Cedar Fair is no longer operating Schlitterbahn on a year-round basis.
The world's first convertible waterpark, Schlitterbahn Galveston Island is both an indoor and outdoor waterpark. With a special roof, over 70,000 square feet of the waterpark can be covered in the winter months allowing the park to operate in otherwise inoperable weather.
Schlitterbahn Galveston Island offers 35 experiences, including water slides, uphill water coasters, tubing rivers, children's water play areas, a wave pool, hot tubs, and the Boogie Bahn bodyboarding ride. The waterpark is divided into three sections– Wasserfest, Blastenhoff, and Surfenberg. The park's "Transportainment" river system includes three separate tubing rivers that connect for one never-ending float,
Wasserfest is the park's convertible area with heated pools and rides that operate year-round. Attractions include the Schlitterbahn's signature Torrent "Wave" River, a kid's play pool, a hot tub with a swim-up bar, and a collection of body slides and tube slides.
Surfenberg is surrounded by the Kristal River for tubing and attractions including the Dragon Blaster water coaster, and the Thunder Tub and Wolfpack family raft rides.
Blastenhoff is circled by the Whitewater River with an AquaVeyer that carries tubers back up the hill while seated in their tubes. Rides found in this area are the Screaming Serpents, two intertwined enclosed speed slides, and Massiv, the world's tallest water coaster!
Like at all Schlitterbahn Waterparks parking and inner tubes are free, plus you're welcome to bring your own picnic lunch and non-alcoholic beverages into the park.
