America's first wave pool is located at the waterpark at Point Mallard, a 500-acre family recreational park, owned and operated by the city of Decatur. This public park has a campground, golf course, batting cages, indoor ice rink and water park.
Attractions found at the J. Gilmer Blackburn Aquatic center waterpark include a speed slide, body slide, and three inner-tube slides. There is also an Olympic sized swimming pool, sandy beach and children's area featuring the Squirt Factory and Duck Pond.
