This popular Big Bear Lake recreation area offers family fun all year. Magic Mountain is well known for its Alpine Slide, the only one in Southern California. Take a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the hill and descend down one of two quarter-mile-long zig-zag concrete tracks. It's like riding a thrilling bobsled.
During the summer Magic Mountain's attraction offerings expand to include water slides, go-karts, a zip line, and an 18-hole mini-golf course. The park's double water slide descends the hill into a heated pool.
When the air freezes during winter and the snow flies Magic Mountain makes snow to create a giant snow play hill with lift-served inner tubing.
Also, open all year is the park's Soaring Eagle zip line ride and the new Mine Shaft Coaster. Ride with a friend on the zip line that spans 500-feet, with 100-foot descent that reaches a top speed of 28 miles per hour. Mine Shaft is the first and only mountain coaster in California.
