For the 2022 season this Las Vegas area waterpark (formerly Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas) in Summerlin merged with Cowabunga Bay Henderson and reopened under new ownership and a new name Cowabunga Canyon.
This $50 million waterpark opened in the summer of 2013 and celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2023. Cowabunga Canyon offers a variety of waterslides, rides, and water attractions to keep guests of all ages entertained and cool.
More than one of the water rides at this park was the first of their kind in North America.
Several of the attractions found at this waterpark are special like the The Lone Range raft ride featuring the first Rattler element in the country and High-Ho-Silver a Constrictor tube slide that was recognized as one of the Top 5 Water Slides by the Travel Channel's Extreme Waterparks show. Thrill-seekers can also attempt Deuces Wild, two body slides that drop six stories and accelerate you to speeds of up to 33 feet per second.
Other popular attractions include the BoomerWrangler where riders seated in multi-rider tubes plunge down a 57-foot drop that sends the tube up a wall where riders experience the sensation of weightlessness. You can also line up to race your friends and others down the 360-foot long, six-lane Ricochet Racers while riding on a foam racing mat face-first.
Kids will also have plenty to explore with a 10,500 square-foot, multi-level aquatic play structure – Pinata Falls – featuring 11 slides, spray guns, geysers, and topped by a massive tipping bucket that drenches all who stand below.
For families with youngsters, the park's Buckaroo Bay is an interactive children’s area with kid-friendly slides. Nearby, the Catcus Creek Lazy River, is a 1,000-foot endless, float, and Cadillac Shores is the park's large wave pool with three-foot swells that you can body surf or ride while floating on a tube.
Cowabunga Canyon also has great amenities including large shaded areas, private cabanas, and misters to keep you cool, plus a variety of food & beverages, and a gift shop.
