2021 will be the final season for Aquatica San Diego. SeaWorld plans to transform the park into Sesame Place for the 2022 season.
Aquatica by SeaWorld (Formerly Knott’s Soak City Chula Vista) is San Diego’s largest waterpark. Like its sister parks in San Antonio and Orlando, Aquatica is a lushly landscaped waterpark with up-close animal encounters, thrilling waterslides and the amenities of a beachside resort. The park’s collection of exotic animals adds an educational component to your waterpark visit.
Now in its second season, Aquatica San Diego expands its attraction lineup with the addition of the all-new Taumata Racer. This high-speed racing waterslide features six lane that guests race down side-by-side on a foam mat going face first.
Additional rides and slides at Aquatica include the Whanau Way complex of six slides, four enclosed and two open-air, that begin from a six-story platform. Walhalla Wave, a 78-foot tall ride that is designed for families to ride together in a giant tube. And Tassie’s Twister a 75-foot tall multi-person tube slide that drops thrill-seekers into a giant, six-story tall funnel. In total, the park has 19 different waterslides for you to experience.
Other attractions to be enjoyed include the Big Surf Shores wave pool, one of the largest in Southern California with more than 500,000 gallons of water and swells of up to five feet. Loggerhead Lane, a 1,250-foot endless lazy river with more than a dozen Caribbean flamingos on display. For the park’s youngest guests Aquatica has two dedicated areas with water fun and kid sized slides.
Aquatica San Diego offers comfortable lounge chairs to relax in, complimentary life vests of all sizes, a variety of food and beverage choices, gift shops and merchandise carts, and lockers to store your belongings while you enjoy the park. You can also enhance your visit by rending a personal cabana situated poolside.
