West Berlin, NJ – Water park operator Sahara Sam's Oasis will break ground on a 10,000 square-foot expansion of its indoor water park. The $4-million dollar expansion is the second significant capital improvement in two years and expected to open in six months.
Sahara Sam's Oasis is both an indoor and outdoor water park facility. The expansion will be connected to the existing 70,000 square-foot indoor water park and include two additional water slides, plus a family leisure swimming pool.
ProSlide Technologies has been hired to design and manufacture the new slides that will include a 300-foot long side-by-side, head-first, racing mat slides starting from a four-story indoor tower. In addition, a pair of twister flume water slides, the first of their kind in New Jersey, will be added.
The new flume slides that will extend outside the building will be visible to drivers on Route 73.
"We are really looking forward to breaking ground on this expansion," said Ilya Girlya, CEO of Sahara Sam's. "As a leading entertainment destination, it's paramount that we continue to build upon the experience we provide our guests."
The other addition, a new family pool, will provide guests with a place to lounge and just swim.
Girlya added "The addition of two high speed slides and a new integrated family pool is exciting for our visitors and ensures every visit to Sahara Sam's is a new experience."
The entire expansion, designed by Aquatic Development Group, will be included with the park's general admission ticket and accessible to annual pass holders at no additional cost.
The expanded attractions are expected to debut in May 2016.
Sahara Sam's Oasis previously expanded two years ago with an outdoor water park addition called The Beach Club. This two acre area includes a wave pool, children's splash pool, leisure pool, cabanas, volleyball court and tiki-theme bar.
