Kansas City, KS – Schlitterbahn Kansas City will declare this coming weekend the official start of summer as the waterpark welcomes guests back for the opening of the 2011 season on Saturday, May 21.

Saturday will commence the third season for the Kansas City waterpark that features a collection of unique water rides and attractions. Schlitterbahn Kansas City offers guests a thrilling uphill water coaster, two tubing rivers, including the world's longest tidal wave river, three huge slides, a white water tube chute and more. The park also has the Transportainment™ River System that allows guests to float from one end of the park to the other through a series of attractions without getting out of the water.
On opening day Schlitterbahn will also present LIFTED UP: Faith & Family Day, the first of many special events planned for the season. Area church bands will perform all day and the event will conclude with a concert featuring 33 Miles, Jonny Diaz and SameState. The event is included with park admission.
