Valdosta, GA – Wild Adventures unveils its $4-million expansion of Splash Island Water Park this weekend. The expansion, the largest in its history, includes the addition of two new five-story tall, family slides and nine VIP cabanas.

The new additions bring the total attractions at Splash Island to fifteen and expands its footprint to 17 acres.

Wild Adventures to open two new family raft slides, Hakini Rapids and Kona Cliffs, as part of a $4-million expansion of Splash Island Water Park.

Wild Adventures will preview the area to season passholders on Saturday, April 2 and then open the water park to all guests on Sunday, April 3.

The new slides Hakini Rapids and Kona Cliffs are designed so the entire family can ride together. Up to five guests can ride at once in the giant circular rafts. The new slides start from a five-story platform and wind down to the splash pool below. A special conveyor belt transports the rafts from the bottom of the slides to the top, so guests can simply focus on their fun-filled ride down.

Hakini Rapids is a fast paced trip through raging waters, featuring six twists and turns around embankments. Kona Cliffs is a speed slide offering more thrills than Hakini Rapids with three drops, each loaded with plenty of airtime.

"Splash Island is a popular place to be, especially during the hot summer months, and increasing the size of the water park by approximately 6 acres was a big focus for us this season," said Bob Montgomery WA vice president and general manager. "Hakini Rapids and Kona Cliffs are giant slides that add more to the family element that guests expect when they visit Wild Adventures."

In addition to the slides, the park is opening Cabana Village with nine secluded cabanas, available for rent, providing families with the ultimate water park experience. Each of the exclusive cabanas provide room for up to eight guests with 200 square-feet of secluded comfort, featuring flat screen television, table and chairs, mini refrigerator, ceiling fan, lounge chairs, secured storage and access to the Cabana Village restrooms.

Guests can also rent shaded loungers in Cabana Village, which accommodate two guests with lounge chairs, umbrella, secured storage, and access to the Cabana Village restrooms. Reservations for cabanas and loungers in Cabana Village must be made online, prior to park visit.
