Raging Waters To Open Bombs Away Standing, Freefall Slide This Summer

San Jose, CARaging Waters San Jose announced they will expand their attraction lineup this summer with the addition of Bombs Away, a one-of-a-kind, adrenaline pumping, freefall slide.

Designed by ProSlide of Ottawa, Canada the new water ride features a unique, thrilling trap-door launch into a near vertical enclosed flume.

Bombs Away will offer Raging Waters guests an adrenaline filled experience that begins when the rider steps into an enclosed, launch capsule in a standing position. When the trap door suddenly opens, the rider plummets into the flume, descending five stores, at a top speed of 38-feet per second. The 32-inch enclosed flume will span more than 200-feet and feature several translucent sections so spectators can see the action.

As Northern Californias largest water park, situated in the heart of Silicon Valley, we are excited about entertaining families with the latest water park technology, said Valerie Contreras, general manager of Raging Waters San Jose. This incredible ride uses powerful G-forces that glue riders to the wall of a 360 degree looping body slide. There is literally nothing like it.

Bombs Away is planned to debut in May. Raging Waters San Jose opens for the 2011 season on Sunday, May 15.
