Schlitterbahn's multi-million dollar expansion will include a Boogie Bahn surf ride, the first ride of its kind in the region.
Kansas City, KS – Schlitterbahn Kansas City announced a multi-million dollar expansion of the waterpark for 2011 that includes six new attractions, including the region's only Boogie Bahn surf ride and a record-breaking rapids river.
This past summer was a successful one for Schlitterbahn. The Kansas City waterpark completed its first full-season of operation with visitors arriving from all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia and as far away as Canada, Puerto Rico the Virgin Islands and Mexico.
"Attendance during our first full season exceeded our expectations," explained Keith Fontenot, general manager for Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark. "Our unique river tubing experience was well received by our guests. They asked for more and we are excited to introduce more thrilling attractions and amenities for the 2011 season."
Besides the surf ride and rapids river, Schlitterbahn will add three new slides, a whitewater tube chute, ride-up Aqua Veyer, plus additional attractions and guest amenities.
Schlitterbahn Kansas City will open for the 2011 season on Saturday, May 21. A discount is being offered on 2011 season passes for a limited time. For more information, visit schlitterbahn.com.
