Atlanta, GA -- Six Flags will expand their use of the popular Wiggles children's franchise with a new attraction at Six Flags White Water water park near Atlanta.
Opening in May 2010, the new Wiggles Water World, will be an interactive water playground a theme based on the world's #1 preschool entertainers— The Wiggles.
Wiggles Water World will boast five interactive sections spread across a 40,000 square-foot area, according to Six Flags.
The biggest adventure of all will be at the center of Wiggles Water World on board The S.S. Feathersword, a 25-foot tall interactive play ship. Guests can become Captain Feathersword's first mate while exploring water cannons, telescopes, net climbs, secret crawl-throughs, port-holes and slippery slides.
The expansion will also include Wags the Dog's Kennel Slide Tower, a water jet area with Henry The Octopus, Dorothy the Dinosaur's Spray Garden and a water slide called the Big Red Car Slide.
"The Wiggles have touched the hearts of children for over 18 years and we are thrilled at the opportunity to bring this unique family experience to our water park," said Melinda Ashcraft, Six Flags Atlanta Properties Park President. "Wiggles Water World is the first of its kind in North America and will make 2010 a very special season."
Six Flags will also add The Wiggles theme to one of food facilities to be called the Yummy Yummy Cafe.
The Wiggles are the world's #1 preschool entertainers, having sold more than 23 million videos and 7 million CDs worldwide.
After forming in Sydney Australia in 1991, The Wiggles have become the world's #1 preschool aged children's entertainers, combining music with early childhood education. Wiggles Water World will be designed to leverage the group's vast recognition and status among children ages 2-to-6.
Six Flags has used The Wiggles franchise in five of their US theme parks. This is the first time the company has used the franchise in a water park.
Wiggles Water World will expand the offerings at Six Flags White Water, the largest water park in the Southeast. The park attractions already include one of the tallest freefall sides in the world, a unique family raft ride and a giant wave pool. Aquatics International also recently named the park the "Best Private Water Park in the U.S."
