New Wave Pool Debuts Saturday at Valleyfair Soak City Waterpark

Shakopee, MN -- Valleyfair's Soak City Waterpark and the brand-new Breakers Bay wave pool are set to debut this Saturday, May 23. Those wanting to ride the tide will be thrilled by the four-to-six man-made foot waves rolling through the new 350,000-gallon pool. Little ones will enjoy easy access with a zero-depth entry and bubbly water geysers to keep them amused.

Valleyfair is also upgrading their guest services this summer with the addition of 24 new rental cabanas around the wave pool in Soak City. The cabanas will provide guests with a great way to beat the heat in a comfortable, shady setting and come with optional food and beverage service.

Soak City also features an adjacent lush grass area perfect for sunbathing and lounging. The transformation of Soak City includes Beach Bites food stand, a new bathhouse facility, additional tube and locker rentals and Soak City Supplies– a merchandise and apparel store.

Valleyfair will celebrate the grand opening of the $6-million expansion Saturday with a ribbon cutting ceremony and live entertainment, taking place near the waterpark entrance at Noon.

As the largest amusement park in the upper Midwest, Valleyfair offers two great parks for the price of one. Park admission includes all-day access to over 75 rides and attractions, including eight roller coasters, family rides, live entertainment and Soak City Waterpark.

Valleyfair and Soak City Waterpark are open daily through Labor Day, with the amusement park remaining open weekends through September and October.
