Construction Underway On New Alottawata Water Park In Ottawa

Ottawa, Canada — Construction of the Alottawata Water Park in the Ottawa area is well underway with a planed opening for June 2009.

The new $30 million park is being built on a 100-acre site on the south end of Moodie Drive in Ottawa, near the Bankfield/Brophy exit on Highway 416.

Proslide Technology, a firm that designs water park rides and attractions is the owner and builder.

"Our plan for Alottawata is to not only build the largest water park in the region, but to definitely build one of the most unique water parks in the world," said Rick Hunter, president and CEO of Proslide Technology Inc.

Proslide plans to open the park with 10 rides and anticipates the park will draw about 5,000 visitors daily. Alottawata will also employ about 120 seasonal workers.
