Six Flags Adding New Tube Slide To Splashwater Kingdom Waterpark

Louisville, KY - Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom announced it will add a new tube slide called "Mega Wedgie" to its Splashwater Kingdom water park. This new attraction represents a multi-million dollar investment in the waterpark for 2008.

Mega Wedgie, a bowl tube slide begins from a two-story high platform. Guests seated in an inner tube descend down an enclosed 100-foot long tube that ends in a 30-foot diameter bowl. After spinning or taking a swirl around the sites, riders will funnel through a hole in the center that leads to the splashdown pool below.

Construction on the ride will begin immediately weather permitting, according to Six Flags. Mega Wedgie will be built across from Hook's Lagoon and near the Deluge water coaster.

Splashwater Kingdom and the new ride are set to open for the 2008 season on May 24. The waterpark is part of Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and included with theme park admission.
