Gulf Shores, AL -- Waterville USA waterpark in Gulf Shore will host the Wave House Flow Tour this weekend. This national competition seeks to find the best flow boarders, knee boarders and body boarders in the country.
The competition will take place Saturday and Sunday, August 11 - 12 on the endless wave created by Waterville USA's new FlowRider attraction. A stream of 40,000 gallons of water is pumped over a mat every minute to create a perfect wave to surf or body board.
On hand for this weekends competition will be Andy Finch, 2005 Winter X-Games silver medalist and member of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Snowboard Team. Also, five-time body board champion Matt Griffon and three-time body board world champion Tyler Danek will be at the park.
Any athlete can sign-up to participate. Entry fee for competitors is $35 or there is a $10 entrance fee for those who want to watch.
Entrants in each division will be competing for prizes and possible trip to compete at the Wave House in San Diego, California in the National Championship in September.
