Called the great lake of Georgia, Lake Lanier formed in 1956 covers 38,000 surface acres and features 690 miles of shoreline. LanierWorld Water Park (formerly Chattahoochee Rapids Beach & Waterpark) at Lake Lanier Islands Resort offers water activities and a place for families to cool off during the summer. Attractions include a half-mile long sandy swimming beach overlooking the lake, eight water rides, Georgia's largest wave pool Wild Waves, plus a three-story interactive water attraction. For youngsters, Kiddie Lagoon is a pint-sized water activity pool and Wiggle Waves is a child-sized wave pool.

Located 45 minutes north of downtown Atlanta. Take I-75 North to I-85 North to Friendship Raod, Exit 8. Turn left on Friendship Road which turns into Holiday Road and follow until it dead ends into the gates of Lake Lanier Islands.
